NRNs willing to invest Rs 10 arba immediately into Nepal's share market; SEBON forms task force to amend policies

A joint meeting has been convened between the newly elected board of Non-Residence Nepalese Association (NRNA) and high level officials of SEBON team chaired by its chairman Dr. Rewat Bahadur Karki to bring the investment of NRNs into the secondary market of Nepal. In a press statement issued by SEBON, newly elected president of NRNA Mr. Bhaban Bhatta was quoted informing that many NRNs all over the world are interested to funnel in their money to the capital market, and therefore, requested SEBON to prepare conducive environment including formulating policies for the same. He made a further announcement in the same event that the NRNA is well poised to invest Rs 10 arba as an initial investment in the sector. Chairman of the Board Mr. Karki assured that the NRNs will soon be welcomed to funnel in their investment after all the ongoing reform works in NEPSE conclude. He further informed that SEBON has already taken forward the proposal to regulate and amend the existing policies to welcome the investment of NRNs in the share market. Informing that a high-level task force has been constituted between the officials of Ministry of Finance and other concerned experts to look into the matter, he further requested NRNs to inform the board about all other future concerns.
