Market indecisive in wait for budget; sideways movement tanking 7.70 points for the day

NEPSE index has declined today by 7.70 points or 0.57%. The market today had opened at 1,356.21 points, which fluctuated throughout the day in a declining trend and ultimately landed in red zone. Total turnover worth Rs 35.88 crore was witnessed during the trading hours as more than 7.73 lakh unit shares were traded in the whole day through 5,588 transactions.

Nepal Life Insurance Company (NLIC) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than 2.22 crore worth of shares were traded. Similarly, Global IME Bank Promoter Share (GBIMEP) was the top in case of number of shares traded as 53,700 unit shares were exchanged.

Likewise, the top gainer for the day is Samata Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (SMATA) whose price increased by 5.95% closing at Rs. 873. And, Nerude Laghubitta Bikas Bank (NLBBL) was the top loser of the day losing 4.25% on its price.

The sub-indices for all the sectors declined and closed in red today. The top losing sector was Insurance, tumbling by 69.28 points.
