100 points swing witnessed in NEPSE today; market surprises everyone by recovering 38 points to close 1.07% down

The market today hit the negative circuit of 4% or 48.16 points in the first 40 minutes of its opening, which later fell down to 52 points at a time, but soon after that, the buyers started dominating the market which gradually led in recovering 50 points to hover around 1200 levels at 2:35 PM. At the closing, the benchmark index lost 1.07% or 12.87 points to settle at 1188.70 points. The turnover amount stood Rs 48.53 crore which was achieved through trade of 1,444,173 units of shares traded through 6869 transactions trading scrips of 147 listed companies in the process.
Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL) posted the highest turnover at Rs.3.43 Crore with LTP at Rs.1325 per share. Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) stood ahead in terms of volume with trade of 66,472 units of shares. The LTP of the stock stood at Rs.288 per share.
Three companies hit the positive circuit, which are, Citizen Investment Trust (CIT), Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL), and Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIB) as it all gained 9.99% or Rs 188, Rs 120 and Rs 35 points respectively and closed at Rs.2070, Rs 1325 and Rs 387 per share. Whereas, four companies hit the negative circuit today led by Swabalamban Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SWBBL) with loss of 9.99% or 117 points and LTP at Rs.1054 per share.
Sensitive Index lost 4.03 points and closed at 256.29 points while Float Index lost 1.47 points and closed at 83.53 points.
In the individual sector context, Life Insurance, Trading, Manufacturing & Products and Others gained 3.65%, 5.24%, 4.31% and 3.13% respectively; while the rest of the sub-indices ended in the red zone after losing points. Development and commercial banks were among the top losers.
