11.50% Annual Return Sounds Good to You? Government of Nepal Issuing "Citizens Saving Bond 2084"

Nepal Rastra Bank is issuing Citizens Saving Bond 2084 (Nagarik Bachatpatra 2084 'A') from Falgun 20. The issue will close on Falgun 30, 2079. This is a government Bond issued by NRB on behalf of the government of Nepal. The Bond will mature on 2084 BS, i.e 5 years from now.

On behalf of the Government of Nepal, the Department of Monetary Management is set to issue Citizen Savings Certificates with the following features and arrangements:

Name of the savings certificate: Citizen Savings Certificate 2084 'A' (5 years).

Amount to be Issued: Rs. 2.5 Arba

Annual interest rate: 11.50 percent (taxable).

Payment of interest: To be Paid every 6 months.

Limits on Purchases: Rs. 10,000 or the entirety of the issue. Any quantity in between should be divisible by 10,000 and this issue can only be purchased by Nepali citizens.

Security Facility: Investors can use this Bond as collateral to take loans from banks and financial institutions other than Nepal Rastra Bank itself.

The issue date is on Falgun 20, meaning interest will be counted from that day.
