14 Climbers Receive Permits to Ascend Mount Dhaulagiri This Autumn
A total of 14 climbers have been granted permission to scale Mount Dhaulagiri in Myagdi this autumn, according to the Department of Tourism. Mount Dhaulagiri, standing at 8,167 meters, is the seventh-highest peak in the world and located in Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-4. The department has collected Rs 1.689 million in royalties from these climbers, with additional support teams of Sherpas, guides, and porters preparing for the expedition.
In total, 88 women and 274 men from 54 countries have received permits to climb 10 different mountains in Nepal this year, contributing Rs 45.2 million in climbing fees. Manaslu, another 8,000-meter peak, saw the highest number of permits after Dhaulagiri, with 308 climbers set to ascend. This follows a busy spring season in which 1,020 climbers paid Rs 689.9 million in royalties to climb 30 mountains across Nepal.
