27th Asadh, 2076- targeted date to announce monetary policy

NRB has been working to bring in monetary policy of FY 2076/77 within 27^th Asadh, 2076.  Several banks, microfinances, business person, industrialists and investors have provided suggestions to NRB on monetary policy. Big merger is expected to be the major issue of this monetary policy.

Since the policy will be announced on 27^th Asadh, NRB has called out for applications for big merger from commercial banks within 26^th Asadh on Thursday. NRB will see these proposals and present facilities, benefits and provisions accordingly.

Monetary policy will be based on the budget’s plan of economic growth of 8.5% and inflation within 6.5%.
