Among 156 countries, Nepal is the 100th happiest country in the world; Finland tops the list for the third time in a row

It is said that the most important thing in the world is happiness. If people have a feeling of self-satisfaction, they can move on to be the best version of themselves. It is the responsibility of the governing authority of a country to keep their residents happy, because if the people are happy the country will be happy.

On the basis of a recently published survey, Nepal stands at 100^th position among 156 countries in terms of happiness. This report considers factors like GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity and perception of corruption.

For the third time in a row, Finland has topped this list and is considered as the happiest country in the world. With a score of 7.73 points, Finland stands on the first position followed by Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, New Zeeland, Canada and Austria in the preceding positions respectively.

In the previous year, Nepal was ranked at 101^st position with a score of 4.88 points. However, this year, the ranking has improved with a score of 4.91 points. Neighboring country India stands at 140^th position as per the report. Amongst South Asian countries, Pakistan stands at 67^th position, Bhutan at 95^th, Bangladesh at 125^th, Sri Lanka at 130^th, and Afghanistan at 154^th position. South Sudan is the least happy country standing at 156^th position.

Aspects like social heritage, infrastructure & development, employment, quality of education, political stability, health services etc. have been considered to measure the happiness index of a particular country.
