Bagmati Provincial Government Spends Only 38.92% of Its Fiscal Year 2080/81 Budget
The Bagmati Provincial Government has utilized only 38.92 percent of its budget allocation for the fiscal year 2080/81. As ten months of the fiscal year approach their end, the spending by the provincial ministries has been relatively low. The Controller Office of Province Treasury and Accounts in Hetauda, Makawanpur, reports that a mere 38.92 percent, which amounts to 24 Arba 40 crore 78 lakhs, of the entire budget has been expended from the start of Shrawan to the present.
During this timeframe, the provincial government's ministries expended 11 Arba 41 crore 52 lakhs on recurring expenses and 12 Arba 99 crore 25 lakhs on capital investments, according to the chief controller Hari Prasad Upadhyay. He detailed that the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development led the expenditures with a total of 8 Arba 69 crore 89 lakhs.
Following were the ministries of Water Supply, Energy and Irrigation with 2 Arba 86 crores, the Health Ministry with 1 Arba 86 crores, the Ministry of Social Development with 1 Arba 69 crores, the Ministry of Forests and Environment with 1 Arba 23 crore 29 lakhs, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock with 81 crore 9 lakhs, the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Cooperatives with 63 crore 36 lakhs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law with 19 crore 65 lakhs, the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers with 17 crore 48 lakhs, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning with 9 crore 54 lakhs.
The Provincial Assembly Secretariat has reported an expenditure of 14 crore 56 lakhs, as noted by the Controller Office of Province Treasury and Accounts. The total budget allocated by the provincial government for this fiscal year was 62 Arba 70 crores 90 lakhs, with 26 Arba 42 crores 12 lakhs set aside for recurrent expenditures, 35 Arba 78 crores 78 lakhs for capital projects, and 50 crores for financial management.
