Bangladesh's January Exports Soar to 5.72 Billion USD: A Year-on-Year Surge of 11.45%

In January, Bangladesh exported goods valued at 5.72 billion U.S. dollars, reflecting an 11.45 percent year-on-year increase, as per official data. Data from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) revealed on Sunday indicated that the country's overall exports for the first seven months of the current fiscal year (July 2023-June 2024) amounted to 33.26 billion dollars, marking a 2.52% year-on-year rise.

The growth is partially attributed to the commendable performance of the ready-made garment sector. Bangladesh generated 28.36 billion dollars from ready-made garment exports during the July-January period, surpassing the 27.42 billion dollars earned in the corresponding period the previous year. For the entire 2023-24 fiscal year, Bangladesh has set an export target of 62 billion dollars, with ready-made garment products accounting for over 52 billion dollars of this goal.
