Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road Project Advances with Bridge and Infrastructure Developments

Under the national pride Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road Project, the government has identified nine priority plans for the current fiscal year 2024/25, with four already underway. These plans focus on landslide control, bridge construction, and road blacktopping to enhance connectivity in Mustang.

According to Engineer Bishnu Chapagain, the project’s information officer, four contracts have been signed and work has begun, while five additional plans remain in the contracting phase. The signed contracts include the construction of bridges over Kaiku Khola, Larjung Khola, Panda Khola, and a suspension bridge at Rahughat in Myagdi.

The Kaiku Khola Bridge in Thasang-4 is being constructed under a Rs. 53.90 million contract with BK KC, GC JV, signed on February 25. Similarly, the Larjung Khola Bridge in Thasang-2 will be built by SK Dhaulagiri Construction Services under a Rs. 22.2 million contract signed on February 23.

For Panda Khola, a Rs. 5.85 million contract was awarded to Soli Thumka Construction Services on February 23 for channelizing the river and installing a circular water system. Additionally, the Rahughat suspension bridge is being managed and maintained by BRT Saya JV under a Rs. 33.90 million contract signed on February 25.

With these projects progressing, the Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road Project is steadily advancing, aiming to strengthen road infrastructure and improve accessibility in Mustang.
