Birgunj Metropolitan City Surpasses Rs 360 Million Mark in Tax Collection
The Birgunj Metropolitan City (BMC) has disclosed a notable achievement in tax collection, surpassing Rs 360 million within the initial nine months of the ongoing fiscal year. Over the specified period, BMC's revenue division successfully accrued Rs 167 million, marking a significant contribution to the city's financial landscape.
The bulk of this revenue, totaling Rs 127 million, was derived from property taxes, with house rent generating an additional Rs 45 million. BMC's comprehensive tax framework, comprising 24 distinct categories, has facilitated the systematic collection of revenues from various sources.
Manoj Karna, Chief of the Revenue Division at BMC, remarked on the commendable progress, noting a substantial increase of Rs 29 million compared to the previous fiscal year.
