Birgunj Transport Office Collects Over Rs 1.5 Billion in Revenue for FY 2023/24

The Transport Management Office in Birgunj reported a revenue collection of more than Rs 1.5 billion for the Fiscal Year 2023/24, marking a significant increase of Rs 171.9 million compared to the previous fiscal year.

Kamal Raj Gautam, Chief of the Transport Management Office, Birgunj, expressed that the revenue performance for the year was highly encouraging. In FY 2022/23, the office had collected Rs 1.35 billion in revenue.

Of the total revenue for FY 2023/24, Rs 1.19 billion came from vehicle-related fees alone, while vehicle permits contributed Rs 150 million.

During this period, the office registered 2,229 vehicles, including buses, trucks, and machinery, along with 645 smaller vehicles such as cars, jeeps, microbuses, and ambulances. Additionally, 747 motorcycles and scooters were registered.

In total, the Transport Management Office, Birgunj, saw the registration of 38,456 new vehicles in the last fiscal year.
