British Council Hosts Youth and Climate Action Conference 2024 in Nepal
The British Council initiated the Youth and Climate Action Conference 2024 on June 3 to unite stakeholders across sectors to explore youth leadership in the green economy and climate action. Until June 10, the conference engaged participants in activities addressing climate change challenges and fostering creativity, activism, and prevention measures.
Collaborating with the UK and Nepal Partners with Consortium, the event featured a symposium on Sustainable Green Economy and Climate Action, alongside interactive workshops and a week-long exhibition showcasing innovative green projects. Intellectuals, artists, activists, and innovators gathered to discuss creativity, entrepreneurship, and environmental sustainability.
British Ambassador Rob Fenn emphasized the shared challenge of climate change between the UK and Nepal, fostering youth collaboration. Helen Silvester, British Council's South Asia Regional Director, highlighted the critical role of youth leadership in driving a sustainable future. Partners from the UK and Nepal echoed the importance of collective responsibility in promoting a creative green economy, with local partners expressing enthusiasm for the concept's adoption among stakeholders.
