BSE SENSEX hits 40,000 mark for the first time; Election result of BJP's win shows a favorable impact in market sentiment

The BSE SENSEX is a free-float market-weighted stock market index of 30 well-established and financially sound companies listed on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

As the Modi led BJP party hit home run on the election, the India’s benchmark stock index, the 30-share Sensex, touched an all-time high of 40,084.63 points. The Nifty topped 12,000 points, another all-time high.

SENSEX went up by 876.58 points and Nifty Fifty went up by 271.15 points.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s BJP was leading in as many as 277 of the 511 seats for which the trends were available, crossing the half-way mark in the 543-member Lok Sabha, according to the Election Commission.
