BYD Reaffirms Commitment to Sustainability with Battery Recycling Initiative

On Global Recycling Day, BYD Auto Industry Company Limited highlighted its commitment to environmental sustainability through a comprehensive battery recycling and reuse program. In response to the growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs), BYD has partnered with two global recycling leaders IT Asset Partners, Inc. in the USA and Anhui Lecheng Lithium-Ion Technology Co., Ltd. in China to ensure the responsible recycling of lithium-ion batteries used in their EVs.

These partnerships will involve testing, safe dismantling, material recovery, and eco-friendly processing of batteries. By embracing a circular economy approach, BYD aims to reduce electronic waste, conserve resources, and minimize carbon footprints. With EV adoption on the rise in Nepal, BYD’s initiative aligns with the country’s sustainability goals, ensuring responsible battery management as Nepal transitions to electric mobility. Through its distributor Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., BYD is actively promoting sustainable transportation in Nepal.
