The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has officially opened the bidding process for the Nepal Premier League (NPL) franchise. CAN has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) inviting both Nepali and international companies to invest in the cricket franchise.

Interested companies must submit their applications by August 16, along with a completed RFP form and a non-refundable fee of Rs 100,000. CAN has specified that bidding companies must be registered with the Office of the Registrar, be VAT-registered, and possess a valid tax clearance certificate.

Foreign bidders are eligible to participate through a joint venture with a Nepali company. However, companies with histories of criminal charges, financial fraud, or money laundering are disqualified.

Last year, CAN hosted the Nepal T20 League in collaboration with Indian company Seven3 Sports. The central working committee of CAN decided in its July 5 meeting to schedule the NPL for November/December.
