Chamber Chairman Malla Advocates for Prioritizing Information Technology Industry by the Nation

Mr. Rajendra Malla, Chairman of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, said that economic prosperity should be achieved by prioritizing information technology related industries. Addressing the inaugural session of the CAN Infotech Fare, Chairman Malla said that the digital economy should be the priority of the nation.

Chairman Malla said that while the development of information technology in the world is taking rapid leaps, Nepal should also take advantage of it. Mr. Malla said, 'Nepal can act as a wake-up of international IT companies. Many of our youth can be brought into the main flow of employment.'

Chairman Malla emphasized that remittances can be brought in by working as a backup for large international companies related to information technology. Chairman Malla recalled that last year, Nepal earned nearly 68 billion rupees from the sale of services and various apps for international IT companies.

Chairman Malla emphasized that the activities should be expanded so that the tools are accessible to the common people. Chairman Malla said that if the digital economy can be developed, economic transparency will be maintained.
