Chandragiri Municipality to Present Voluntary Local Review at World Urban Forum in Cairo

Chandragiri Municipality is set to showcase its Voluntary Local Review (VLR) report at the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF) in Cairo, Egypt, which kicks off today and will run until November 8. Organized under the United Nations HABITAT, the international forum gathers cities and leaders worldwide to discuss sustainable urban development.

The VLR report prepared by Chandragiri focuses on localizing specific Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to meet the municipality’s goal of creating a sustainable city by 2030. Mayor Ghanashyam Giri, who departed for Cairo on Saturday, will present the report and discuss various initiatives undertaken by the municipality.

Chief Administrative Officer Hemraj Aryal emphasized that the VLR helps align Chandragiri's policies, plans, and programs with sustainable goals, aiming to foster a sustainable and resilient urban environment. "This opportunity to present at the World Urban Forum is significant for us," Aryal noted, highlighting the municipality's commitment to advancing sustainable urban development.
