CIB Arrests Three for Possession of 14.25 kg of Illegal Silver Jewelry
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has apprehended three individuals in possession of 14.25 kg of silver jewelry. The arrested individuals have been identified as 22-year-old Aman Kumar, 26-year-old Bikikumar Sah, and 34-year-old Shrawan Prasad Kanun, all Indian nationals residing in Liparnibirta-6, Parsa. They were involved in the illegal sale of silver jewelry.
The arrest was made after the police discovered the silver jewelry hidden in the trunk of a car with the Indian registration number BR 06 U 9053. The discovery occurred during a check at the auto workshop of Auto Services Pvt located in Sano Gaucharan, Kathmandu.
The CIB, led by SP Hobindra Bogati, has forwarded the case to the Department of Revenue Investigation for further action against those involved in the illegal storage and sale of silver jewelry.
The arrests, made on July 5, were based on information that the suspects were transporting silver jewelry illegally from Lalitpur to Kathmandu for illegal distribution.
