Citizens Bank International Wins Prestigious 'Bank of the Year 2024' Award
Citizens Bank International Limited (CZBIL) has been awarded the prestigious “Bank of the Year 2024” title, marking its first recognition of this kind. The award highlights the bank’s exceptional financial performance and service delivery, earning it international acknowledgment.
The award, conferred by The Banker, a publication of the UK-based Financial Times, celebrates the best-performing commercial banks globally. On Thursday midnight, Nepali time, Citizens Bank’s Chairman, Prabal Jung Pandey, and CEO, Ganesh Raj Pokharel, received the honor at a ceremony held in London.
Citizens Bank has expanded its capacity by merging with more than half a dozen institutions, catering to micro, small, and corporate financing needs. The bank has also made significant investments in renewable energy and large-scale infrastructure projects.
Following the award ceremony, Chairman Pandey expressed that this recognition would further enhance the bank’s service delivery and contribute to the growth of Nepal’s banking sector. “This award not only highlights Citizens Bank’s achievements but also adds to the success of Nepal’s entire banking system,” he said, emphasizing the motivation it provides amidst the current economic landscape.
The Bank of the Year award has been presented for over 25 years, recognizing outstanding financial performance among commercial banks from more than 150 countries annually. Citizens Bank’s accomplishment has further solidified the credibility and effectiveness of Nepal’s banking industry on the global stage.
