Commercial Banks Reports Higher Deposit Than Lending in Third Week of Jestha; Present CD Ratio Stands 89.94 %

Nepal Bankers' Association (NBA) has unveiled an elaborate report on the trend of deposit and lending in the Nation's Commercial banks. This is the data reported as of third week of Jestha, 2079. The CD ratio till 20th Jestha, 2079 was 90.32%. However, the same ratio of 23rd Jestha is 89.94%.
The total deposit figure has risen by Rs. 7 billion in the third week of Jestha, and the figure is at Rs. 4390 billion. In the second week of Jestha, this figure had risen by Rs. 6 billion from the week before that. In total Rs. 4278 billion worth of deposits are in local currency while the rest Rs. 112 billion is in foreign currency.
Meanwhile, the total lending has fallen by Rs. 2 billion, and the total figure is at Rs. 4196 billion. Rs. 4156 billion worth of lending has been forwarded in local currency while Rs. 39 billion is in foreign currency.
