The CPN-UML has officially taken its seat on the opposition bench in the House of Representatives (HoR) during the meeting held on Sunday. This move follows the party's decision to withdraw its support from the government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

In a recent meeting, the CPN-UML decided to assume the role of the opposition in parliament, citing its withdrawal of support as the key reason. The party had formally informed the Parliament Secretariat about its decision to no longer back the current government.

The shift in political alignment comes after the CPN-UML entered into an agreement with the Nepali Congress to form a power alliance on May 30. This new alliance has significantly altered the political landscape, positioning the CPN-UML as a prominent opposition force in the current parliamentary session.
