CPN-UML Urges PM Dahal to Refrain from Long-Term Decisions Amidst Loss of Majority
The CPN-UML has urged Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to avoid making decisions with long-term implications, given his current lack of majority in parliament. In a press statement issued on Thursday, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel stressed the importance of not taking actions that could have lasting effects.
The party stated that PM Dahal cannot secure a vote of confidence, highlighting the newly formed alliance between the UML and the Nepali Congress. This follows the mass resignation of eight CPN-UML ministers, who withdrew their support from the Dahal-led government.
As a result, PM Dahal is now required to seek a vote of confidence within 30 days.
