Dang Sees Closure of 877 Commercial Firms Due to Operational Costs in FY 2080-81

In the fiscal year 2080-81 BS, 877 commercial firms in Dang have ceased operations due to their inability to meet operating costs. Interestingly, the number of business closures is equal to the number of new business registrations in the district.

The Cottage and Small Industries Office in Dang has registered enterprises across various sectors, including manufacturing, agriculture and forestry, energy, mineral, construction, service, and information technology. Santosh Kumar Subedi, the chief of the Cottage and Small Industries Office, confirmed that the number of new registrations matches the number of closures.

Subedi noted an increase in agriculture and forest products-based enterprises among the newly registered industries. Business owners cited operational losses as the primary reason for cutting costs and shutting down businesses. During this period, 471 industries closed down.

Despite the closures, 596 new firms were registered, comprising 592 private and four partnership firms. Additionally, 1,457 firms renewed their registrations, and 292 firms increased their capital. Over the year, 513 new industries were added.

The Office reported that 548 people are now engaged in new enterprises within the newly registered and renewed industries, with a total of 1,562 people employed. A total of 1,156 industries renewed their registrations.

During this period, 98 manufacturing industries and 231 agricultural and forestry industries were added. Additionally, 61 firms were established in the tourism industry, bringing the number of service industries in the district to 123.
