Development of Eastern Hydro comes to final stage; affected community dwellers to be given 10% share in the project

The construction work of the Eastern Hydropower Project being developed in Pikhuwa river in Bhojpur district is nearing completion. The project with 5 MW capacity is being developed at the cost of Rs 1.2 billion.
So far, 98 per cent of the project works have come to an end and the entire construction work is expected to be finished in two months, which is around four months prior to the stipulated time.
Engineer at the hydropower project, Roshan Sah, said that construction of power house and four-way and dam, plantation of four kms pipeline, fixing the turbine and other works are about to finish.
Likewise, installation of the wires to link the power into the central transmission line has also reached the final stage, Sah added.
As per the information shared, the affected community dwellers would be given 10 per cent share in the project and an initial public offering would be issued in February.
