Esewa to facilitate digital payment of penalty amount for violating traffic rules; people no longer need to loiter around police stations and banks as punishment
The leading e-wallet service of Nepal Esewa has started a new service in its service portfolio under which people who are fined for violating traffic rules in Kathmandu can now pay for their fine amount directly via Esewa wallet.
The MoU to this effect was signed between the Chief Admin Officer of Esewa Mr. Roshan Lamichane and the SSP of Traffic Police Mr. Janak Bhattarai amid a program.
The new system has come into practice after the traffic police operationalized the Traffic rules Violation Record System in order to facilitate the digital payment of the fine amount. With this new launch, people no longer need to queue up in banks and visit the traffic police officers to pay their fine amount after they violate the traffic rule; rather can do so right from their Esewa wallet and widely spread Esewa Zone Points, as per the media statement.
