Exclusive Screening of 'Have You Seen My Gods?' Documentary to Highlight Nepal's Cultural Repatriation Efforts

A private screening of the documentary Have You Seen My Gods?, directed by Amitabh Joshi, will take place on October 2, 2024, at QFX Chhaya Center. This work-in-progress film explores the 1984 theft of the Lakshmi-Narayana statue and its return to Patan in 2021, intertwined with Joshi's reflections on his grandmother's belief that her illness was tied to the stolen statues.

The documentary includes insights from journalists, artists, and activists, discussing Nepal’s cultural heritage and repatriation efforts. A Q&A session will follow, moderated by Neeva M. Pradhan. Sponsored by Nepal Investment Mega Bank (NIMB), Daya Foundation, and Nepal Art Council, the event aims to raise awareness about the importance of reclaiming Nepal's stolen cultural artifacts.
