Festive month turns out to be festive for NEPSE as well; with today’s turnover at 91 Crore, market welcomes strong indicators of bullish trend

The market that was gaining since the morning, closed at 1256.53 points gaining 11.69 points marking an increase of 0.94%. The market gained as high as 25 points today after which it came down to gain more than 11 points. Today’s turnover stood at an exquisite Rs.91.52 Crore which was achieved from trade of 3,070,231 units of shares through 8,916 transactions trading scrips of 166 companies.

The top turnover and top shares traded list was dominated by commercial banks today. NMB Bank stood ahead in terms of turnover with turnover of Rs.7.14 Crore. Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) stood second in the list with turnover of Rs.4.87 Crore. Janata Bank Nepal (JBNL) had the highest number of shares traded with trade of 228,327 units of shares followed by Nepal Credit and Commercial Bank (NCCB) with trade of 205,948 units of shares.

Bhargav Bikash Bank (BHBL) was today’s top gainer after it gained 12 points marking a gain of 9.52%. Excel Development Bank (EDBL) was today’s top loser after it lost 12 points marking a loss of 3.80%.

Sensitive Index gained 2.66 points and closed at 266.93 points while Float Index gained 1.08 points and closed at 91.22 points.

All of the sub-indices were in the green zone indicating gain. Banking sector dominated the turnover after posting turnover of Rs.61.81 Crore. It also gained 1.25% making it the top gaining sub-index followed by Development Bank sub-index after it gained 1.40%.
