Finance Minister Barshaman Pun affirmed that there would be no arbitrary alterations to the tax rate in the upcoming fiscal year's budget. Speaking at a pre-budget discussion, Minister Pun emphasized the need to revitalize the economy by ending the current slowdown, ensuring any changes to the tax rate are made in the national interest, rather than to benefit specific individuals or businesses associated with his party or the government.

Minister Pun highlighted the importance of a finance minister's actions not undermining the long-term investments made by the private sector and emphasized the need for fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted by the people and the state.
He expressed the government's commitment to fostering an environment of openness and transparency in business policies, aligning with Nepal's democratic, open, and competitive governance system. Minister Pun also underscored the government's expectation for the private sector to actively contribute to the country's development and prosperity.
