FM Pun Introduces Major Budget Initiatives: Govt to Lease Land for Hotel Operations, Implements Easing Measures Across Hydropower and Various Sectors
In his budget speech for the upcoming fiscal year, Finance Minister Barshaman Pun unveiled several key announcements aimed at various sectors.
The government plans to lease out government land for hotel operations, signaling a strategic move to bolster the hospitality industry. Moreover, the Minister highlighted the intention to harness investments from Nepalese expatriates for the development of hydropower projects, showcasing a collaborative approach to infrastructure development.
Allocation details were also disclosed, with Rs 3.77 Arba designated for the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) to enhance aviation infrastructure and services. Furthermore, a substantial sum of Rs 57.29 Arba has been earmarked for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development to bolster agricultural initiatives and livestock welfare in the nation.
Additionally, the government unveiled plans to establish a Nepal Start-ups Fund amounting to Rs 1 Arba, aimed at fostering entrepreneurial ventures within the country. Furthermore, a dedicated web portal will be launched to promote women-based enterprises, underlining the government's commitment to gender-inclusive economic development.
