Following Finance Minister's Directive, Shortlisted Interviews for SEBON's Chairman Today with Final Appointment Anticipated on Monday
In response to allegations of the Securities Board being treated as a 'pendulum', the Prime Minister has instructed the Finance Minister to expedite the appointment process for the Chairman of the Securities Board. Following these instructions, a recommendation committee, chaired by Min Bahadur Shrestha, Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission, has progressed in its task.
The committee, under Shrestha's leadership, shortlisted five candidates from the initial applications. These candidates have been called for an interview on Ashad 2nd, Sunday at 9:00 a.m., in the auditorium of the National Planning Commission. The shortlisted candidates are:
- Krishna Bahadur Karki, CEO of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE)
- Chiranjibi Chapagain, former Chairman of the Insurance Board
- Dr. Nabaraj Adhikari, Executive Director of the SEBON
- Mukti Nath Shrestha, Executive Director of SEBON
- Santosh Narayan Shrestha, an experienced manager in banking and financial institutions
Following the interviews, the selection committee will recommend three candidates to the Council of Ministers. The final appointment of the Chairman is expected to be made during the Council of Ministers meeting on Monday.
