Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba Stresses Economic Diplomacy for Development

Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has called on newly-appointed ambassadors and exporters to prioritize economic diplomacy as a key tool for Nepal's development and prosperity. Speaking at an interaction session at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, Dr. Rana emphasized the need to expand and promote economic diplomacy at a policy level to address the country's economic challenges.

Highlighting the underperformance of Nepal's economy due to various factors, she urged all diplomatic missions to actively engage in promoting economic diplomacy. She called for increased efforts to attract foreign investment, unveil Nepal's business potential in host countries, and boost exports by showcasing competitive Nepali products.

The Foreign Minister stressed the importance of effective and result-oriented performance by Nepal's missions abroad, promising to address resource constraints faced by these offices. She assured that adequate means and support would be provided to strengthen their capacity.

Dr. Rana also advised Nepali entrepreneurs to focus on the quality and packaging of their products to enhance competitiveness in international markets. Additionally, she encouraged exporters to work closely with diplomatic missions and the Foreign Ministry to resolve challenges related to the export of Nepali goods.

The Minister’s remarks underline the government’s commitment to leveraging economic diplomacy as a pathway to achieving national growth and prosperity.
