Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba Urges Nepalese Embassies in Israel and Lebanon to Safeguard Citizens Amid Heightened Concerns

Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has instructed the Nepalese embassies in Israel and Lebanon to closely monitor the safety of Nepalis amid rising concerns in these regions. During virtual meetings on Sunday with the ambassadors of these countries, she gathered updates on the unfolding situations and emphasized the need for proactive communication and support for Nepalis residing there.

Dr. Rana urged the embassies to maintain constant contact with Nepalis, facilitate those wishing to return home, and conduct necessary preparations for any potential rescue or repatriation efforts. She also directed the embassies to issue official notices, appoint contact persons, and establish help desks for effective coordination during emergency situations.

Nepal's Ambassador to Egypt, Sushil Lamsal, provided an update on Lebanon, confirming the safety of Nepali citizens, most of whom work as domestic helpers. Approximately 1,200 Nepalis reside there, with only three individuals having been contacted, all of whom are confirmed safe in Beirut.

Similarly, Charge d'Affaires to Israel, Kumar Shrestha, reported that the situation remains stable, with around 4,500 Nepalis there, all of whom are safe. Additionally, Nepal's ambassador to Pakistan, Tapas Adhikari, shared updates regarding the situation in Iran.
