Government Presents Economic Survey Report in Parliament Amidst Nepali Congress Protests

Despite protests from the Nepali Congress, the government has presented a document in parliament outlining the current economic situation for the fiscal year.

Finance Minister Barshaman Pun reported improvements in the country's economic and social indicators. He noted that despite contractions in the manufacturing and construction sectors, expansions in agriculture and service sectors are expected to drive a 3.9 percent growth in the economy.

Minister Pun projected that total investment for the current fiscal year would increase by 2.8 percent, reaching Rs. 17.41 Kharba. He also anticipated that the per capita income would rise to USD 1,456. As of February, the inflation rate stood at 6.08 percent.

These figures were presented as part of the government's broader assessment of the economic landscape, highlighting both the challenges and areas of growth within the nation's economy.
