Government's Policies and Programs for Upcoming Fiscal Year Tabled Amid Opposition Obstruction
The government's policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year, as presented by President Ram Chandra Paudel on May 14, were officially tabled in the House of Representatives (HoR) despite obstructions from the main opposition party, the Nepali Congress (NC).
The session on Tuesday commenced with an address by NC Joint General Secretary Badri Pandey. Following his remarks, Speaker Devraj Ghimire granted Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal the floor to present the government's policies and programs.
Amid tight security provided by marshals, Prime Minister Dahal proceeded to the rostrum and tabled the document. Subsequently, Speaker Ghimire introduced and passed a motion of thanks to President Paudel for his presentation of the policies and programs.
Concluding the session, Speaker Ghimire announced the adjournment of the HoR meeting, which is scheduled to reconvene at 11 AM on May 24.
