Grand Opening of Nepal's Largest EV Charging Station Marks New Era in Sustainable Travel
The highway travel experience in Nepal has been significantly enhanced with the opening of the GO e-stop in Kurintar. This is the second sustainable rest stop in the country, featuring the largest privately owned EV charging station.
The inauguration was led by Mr. Kulman Ghising, Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, emphasizing the importance of sustainable infrastructure for promoting electric vehicle (EV) use and supporting Nepal's net-zero carbon emission goals.
The Kurintar e-stop offers advanced EV charging stations, a restaurant, and clean public restrooms, catering to modern travelers' needs. Mr. Rajan Rayamajhi, Chairman of thee GO group, highlighted the project’s role in transforming highway travel and reducing carbon emissions. The event ended with a ribbon-cutting and discussions on sustainable travel’s future in Nepal, with plans to expand the e-stop network across the country.
