High intraday volatility observed as NEPSE closes at 1509.67 points; four companies hit the circuit

The market today observed high intraday volatility as it was hovering between 1440 points and 1540 points. Due to issue with the broker’s data center, the trading was halted for 55 minutes and the trading time was extended accordingly. The benchmark index closed with gain of 0.96% or 14.37 points at 1509.67 points. The turnover amount stood at Rs.3.85 Arba achieved through trade of 8,211,289 units of shares traded through 33,898 transactions trading scrips of 181 listed companies in the process.

Nepal Life Insurance Company (NLIC) posted the highest turnover of Rs.40.55 Crore with LTP at Rs.1312 per share. NMB Bank Limited (NMB) stood ahead in terms of volume with trade of 531,054 units of shares. The LTP of the stock stood at Rs.479 per share.

Manjushree Finance Limited (MFIL) hit the positive circuit as it gained 9.92% or 26 points and closed at Rs.288 per share. The top loser’s list was dominated by microfinance companies with Swadeshi Laghubitta (SDESI), NMB Microfinance (NMBMF) and Sparsha Laghubitta (SPARS) hitting the negative circuit.

Sensitive Index gained 2.61 points and closed at 324.04 points while Float Index gained 1.04 points and closed at 107.14 points.

Trading, Others and Microfinance sectors were among losing sub-indices today while the rest of the sub-indices ended in the green zone after gaining points.
