High-level representative of AIIB to attend Nepal Investment Summit

The Chief Executive Officer of Investment Board of Nepal, Maha Prasad Adhikari, has met with President Jin Liqun of China-headquartered Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Beijing on Tuesday.
According to the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, CEO Adhikari briefed Chairman Jin on the upcoming Nepal Investment Summit, and expressed the confidence that AIIB’s support will be crucial in Nepal’s socio-economic development.
Chairman Jin assured that AIIB would continue to lend its full support to Nepal’s development endeavours, adding that there would be senior level representation from AIIB in Nepal Investment Summit being held in March.
Officials present during the meeting told RSS that the AIIB President has pledged funding for the projects forwarded by government in Nepal.
According to CEO Adhikari, AIIB president assured of cooperation in Nepal’s development program and also the higher official participation in the Investment summit. We also discussed on the progress about governments existing projects, he added.
Currently, CEO Adhikari is in Beijing of China who addressed the Pre-Investment Conference organised by Embassy of Nepal in China on Monday.
Established in early 2016, the bank has a total of 93 approved members worldwide. The AIIB invests in Asia and beyond with special attention to sustainable infrastructure and other productive sectors.
