Hydropower Giants and Financial Institutions Rally with Major Contributions to PM's Disaster Relief Fund
Domestic and international hydropower companies, along with leading financial institutions, have generously contributed to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund, providing crucial financial aid. The formal handover of cheques took place on Monday at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli personally receiving the donations.
As per the PM’s secretariat, RP Goyal from India’s premier hydropower firm, National Hydropower Corporation (NHPC), made a significant contribution of Rs 10 million. Prashant Sharma, the CEO of Arun-III Hydropower Project Limited, matched the donation with another Rs 10 million. Likewise, Devi Prasad Bhattachan, Chairman of Prabhu Bank, offered Rs 10 million, while Rajendra Das Shrestha, Chairman of Prime Commercial Bank, pledged Rs 3.1 million.
Adding to the support, notable figures such as Rajendra Malla, Chairman of Prabhu Insurance Limited, Shiksha Bhattachan, Chairman of Prabhu Mahalakshmi Life Insurance, and LP Bhanu Sharma, Chairman of Prabhu Capital, each contributed Rs 2.5 million to bolster the relief efforts.
In response, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expressed heartfelt appreciation, acknowledging the contributions as invaluable in supporting disaster-affected communities, demonstrating a strong commitment to national solidarity during times of crisis.
