Hyundai IONIQ 5 Achieves GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ Title for Greatest Altitude Change by an Electric Car

Hyundai Motor Company’s award-winning IONIQ 5 achieved a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the Greatest altitude change by an electric car. Organized by Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) and Evo India, the car completed a 5,802-meter altitude change, starting at Umling La in Ladakh (5,799 m above sea level) and ending in Kuttanad, Kerala (3 m below sea level).

Over 14 days, the IONIQ 5 traveled 4,900 km through challenging terrain and extreme climates, showcasing its resilience, advanced technology, and performance. Developed on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the IONIQ 5 features a futuristic design, a 72.6 kWh battery, and cutting-edge smart technologies. This record underscores Hyundai’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and its vision of “Progress for Humanity.”
