Investment Agreement Signed for 90 MW Marsyangdi River Semi-Reservoir Hydropower Project
Kumari Bank Limited has led an investment agreement for the 90 MW Marsyangdi Hydropower Station, signed on Magh 18, 2081, between M.A. Power Pvt .Ltd. and a consortium of banks.
The NPR 15.18 billion loan investment includes Prabhu Bank, Siddhartha Bank, and Agricultural Development Bank.
Equity investors include Anup Acharya, Hari Babu Neupane, and Dipak Baral, with Dolma Impact Fund considering a 49% stake pending due diligence. A Power Purchase Agreement with NEA was signed on Kartik 1, 2080, and commercial production is set for Baisakh 22, 2086.
The project’s EIA report is under review, and electricity will be transmitted via an 11.6 km, 220 kV line to NEA’s Markichowk Substation. This initiative aims to boost Nepal’s renewable energy sector and economic growth.
