Transport services have resumed along the Kanti Highway starting today after being fully operational. The highway had been closed for vehicular traffic since March 14 to facilitate repair and maintenance activities.

Ravindra Maharjan, the Information Officer and Engineer of the Kantilokpath Project has confirmed that the necessary repairs have been completed, and transport services have recommenced as of today.

Significant progress has been made in widening the road, particularly in the narrow stretch of Karkibas from Ward No. 3, Bagmati Rural Municipality of Lalitpur to Chhapeli. Additionally, similar work has been successfully completed in the Kalche area. However, certain sections of the road expansion project towards Lalitpur, where there is only a single lane, remain unfinished due to budget constraints this year. Nevertheless, completion of the remaining work is anticipated by next year.

Despite encountering obstacles during the extension works, the Kantilokpath is now fully operational for vehicular movement. This road, which has served for 67 years, is renowned for its convenience and shorter distance, connecting Kathmandu with Hetauda.
