KMC intensifies bid to install CCTV for city management

Kathmandu, Feb 28 (RSS): The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) and Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on installing CCTVs for proper city management.
Joint Secretary Tokraj Pandey on behalf of the KMC and Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police Shailesh Thapa on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari signed the MoU amidst a programme here on Wednesday.
Iswor Man Dangol, KMC Spokesperson, informed that the initiative was taken to maintain proper city management, control crimes, reduce accidents, manage wastes, check rampant encroachment of footpaths and protect public properties, among others.
He further shared that the task has been taken ahead as per the decision of the municipal executive meeting held on February 8.
Based on the approved policy, plan, programme and budget of the fiscal year 2075/76 BS, the KMC will provide Rs 30 million for the purpose.
