Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve Generates Rs 4 Million in Revenue for FY 2080/81 BS
The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve has successfully garnered Rs 4 million in revenue during the fiscal year 2080/81 BS. According to Assistant Conservation Officer Binaya Kumar Mishra, this revenue was primarily collected through royalties from jungle safaris, eco-tourism activities, penalties, elephant rides, and other sources.
The most substantial portion of the revenue came from ticket sales to visitors, highlighting the Reserve's popularity. The eastern belt of the Reserve has emerged as a prominent destination for academic excursions, further contributing to the influx of visitors.
The Wildlife Reserve has set entrance fees at Rs 750 for tourists from SAARC member states and Rs 1,500 for visitors from other countries, allowing them to explore the site for a duration of 12 hours. These fees have played a crucial role in the Reserve's revenue generation.
