Labourers welcome contribution-based social security scheme

The labourers have expressed their solidarity to the mission of government of ensuring social security.

Workers from various sectors gathered at Maitighat Mandala in the capital and expressed their happiness by lighting candles. The government today unveiled the contribution-based social security scheme for formal sector workers amidst a special programme.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli unveiled the scheme ensuring social security to the workers.

Various trade unions have welcomed the government scheme with their happiness and hope of its immediate implementation. The candle lighting programme at Mandala was inaugurated by Labour Minister Gokarna Bista.

The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, has stated that the new scheme will be applied mandatory for the formal sector workers and would be extended to informal sector workers as well very soon.
