Lamjung Sees Surge in Cottage Industry Registrations: 218 New Firms Registered in FY 2023/24

Lamjung district has witnessed a significant rise in the registration of cottage industries, with 218 new firms registered between July 17, 2023, and July 15, 2024, according to the Tourism and Small Industries Development Office, Lamjung.

Mita Kumari Thapa, the Office Chief, reported that during this period, 412 existing industries also completed their renewal process. Among the newly registered firms, 176 are commercial enterprises, while 552 commercial firms successfully renewed their registrations.

This surge in registrations reflects a growing interest in small-scale entrepreneurship within the district. In comparison, a total of 291 cottage industries were registered in the previous fiscal year, 2022/23, indicating a continued positive trend in the local business environment.

The increase in both new registrations and renewals highlights the district's vibrant entrepreneurial spirit and the potential for further economic development through the promotion and support of cottage industries.
