Landslides Block Tamghas-Ridi and Ridi-Wamitaksar Roads, Disrupting Traffic
The Tamghas-Ridi and Ridi-Wamitaksar road sections have been blocked due to landslides triggered by heavy rainfall last night. These road sections, which are part of the Madan Bhandari Highway, were obstructed after landslides occurred at Goudakot and Birbas in Gulmidarbar Rural Municipality.
Additionally, the Ridi-Khajryang road in Rurukshetra Rural Municipality-1, under the Tamghas-Ridi route, has also been blocked by a landslide at Ratamata, according to the District Police Office, Gulmi.
Further compounding the situation, the Ridi-Rudrabeni-Wamitaksar road section has been blocked due to increased water flow in the Dahare River at Satyavati Rural Municipality-6. As a result, vehicles traveling from Tamghas and Wamitaksar to Butwal and Kathmandu are stranded on the road.
Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Sharma reported that local authorities are making efforts to clear the roads and restore traffic flow. However, ongoing rainfall and subsequent mudslides are hindering these efforts.
