Landslides Disrupt Vehicular Movement in Karnali Corridor and Mid Hill Highway
Landslides at multiple locations in the Karnali corridor have disrupted vehicular movement on the highway today. At least five stretches of the highway were blocked due to landslides in the Dailekh section.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sunil Neupane reported that landslides occurred at five sites along the stretch from Paletada to the Paduka River. Security personnel have been mobilized to clear the obstructions and restore traffic flow.
Similarly, the Rukum section of the Mid Hill Highway was obstructed by a landslide at Kitani in Musikot Municipality, Rukum Paschim. Chief District Officer of Rukum Paschim, Hari Prasad Pant, stated that efforts are underway to clear the landslide debris and resume vehicular movement.
Authorities are working diligently to ensure that the highways are cleared and safe for travel as soon as possible.
