Landslides Halt Traffic on Karnali Highway Amid Heavy Rains

Vehicular movement on the Karnali Highway has been entirely halted due to landslides triggered by persistent heavy rains. The disruption is primarily affecting the Surkhet-Jumla road section, particularly at Gagnekhola in Kalikot.

Public Information Officer at the Road Division Office, Jumla, Bir Bahadur GT, confirmed that the highway has been obstructed following a significant landslide at Gagnekhola. Efforts are currently underway to clear the debris and restore normal traffic flow.

Landslides have been a recurring issue on the Karnali Highway, with recent incidents also reported at Dahikhola, Esmod, and Hulm along the Kalikot section. The authorities are working to address these challenges and minimize the impact on transportation in the region.
