Launch of Agri-Digi-Tech Challenge to Boost Digital Innovation in Nepal's Agriculture Sector
The Beed Management and Tangent Waves, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) under the Digital Innovation for Growth and Inclusion in Nepal (DIGI Nepal) project, have launched the Agri-Digi-Tech Challenge (ADTC).
This one-year initiative aims to promote digital innovation in Nepal's agriculture sector by identifying and supporting agri-tech startups, SMEs, and larger enterprises that use digital technologies to improve agricultural productivity, efficiency, and sustainability.
The challenge provides a platform for collaboration and mentorship, accelerating the growth of digital solutions to enhance Nepal's agricultural development. Suman Shakya, Founder of Tangent Waves, emphasized the transformative potential of digital innovation in agriculture.
The ADTC will focus on various digital innovations, including advisory platforms, agri-insurance, e-marketplaces, financing solutions, warehousing and transportation management systems, and mobile applications.
Selected startups, SMEs, and large companies will receive mentorship, technical assistance, and potential investment opportunities during the 5-8 month accelerator program. The challenge winner will receive an investment fund from the SDC.
